The right equipment: how to choose the pillow.
There has always been the belief that sleeping without a pillow was beneficial to our rest. Nothing is further from the truth.
The pillow has an important (vital) role of providing support to our head and neck, contour highlighted on our back.
Therefore, sleep without a pillow or a pillow very low (for our needs) implies a forced position of the neck because the neck can not find the adequate support that respects their curvature. Similarly, a pillow with an excessive thickness, will cause your head to lean forward, straining our neck muscles.
It is also important when choosing your pillow, that it has a good temperature management. By contrast, a pillow that doesn't help to perspiration generates a sense of excessive heat which breaks our good rest.
