Sleep or rest
It's common to find a direct relationship between the words sleep and rest. In fact, often use the term sleep referring to the rest. But surely there are some differences between them.
To rest is a biological necessity of our body.

After a full day of work, there comes a time when our bodies need sleep. Possibly, if we are tired, we are able to sleep in any place and position, for example, a chair or sofa, or car, etc.
But when we wake up, do we feel rested?, ie is really rest whenever you sleep?.
The term rest refers to our body and mind regeneration. During the rest our spine, nervous system or our blood and muscles, regenerate, repair and rediscover their natural balance.
For example, we could sleep for long hours but under a lot of concerns, noise or continuous annoying lights that cause awakenings during sleep. This will cause a poor rest for our body.
In Spain, as a result of our lifestyle and climate, is probably the European country in which we stay up late, ie we go to bed later, but we also must rise early. Therefore, we slept fewer hours, so is vital that these times when we sleep, we provide a truly restful break, regenerative and effective.
Por ejemplo, podemos dormir muchas horas pero bajo preocupaciones, ruidos o luces molestas que provoquen continuos despertares durante el sueño. Esto provocará un descanso deficiente para nuestro organismo.
An environment with adequate conditions, a good rest system adapted to our individual needs and good sleeping patterns (hours of sleep and wake, food before bed, etc.) will optimize our rest on the hours we spend to it.
